I first attended an acupuncture session in my mid twenties for a recurring neck problem and became so interested in the process of diagnosis and treatment that my acupuncturist suggested I do some research. Captivated by the way the Natural order came across as the foundation of this system of healing, by 1981, I had been accepted for the Licentiate in Acupuncture course at The College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Leamington Spa, and by 1985 became co-founder of the interdisciplinary New Cross Natural Therapy Centre in SE London.
As well as my ongoing private practice at NXNTC I have had the opportunity to work within the NHS over a period of 10 years as locum acupuncturist in a SE London General Practice. It has been an enjoyable experience to be part of a GP surgery which offers the possibility for a respectful co-existence of allopathic medicine and that of traditional acupuncture.
My acupuncture professional journey which began with Five-Element training also contains a period of time when I worked within a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) approach. Since Five-Element Acupuncture re-emerged in my consciousness with a fresh sense of its profundity as a healing modality, it has compelled a new assessment and re-established itself as my chosen form of practice. I am also a practitioner of Craniosacral Therapy, graduate of the Karuna Institute in 1990.
